Holiday Reading Festival Includes Rockwood Students

A variety of local Rockwood School District artists and musicians from Eureka and Wildwood will participate in this year's Holiday Reading Festival Dec. 2-4 at Crestwood Court. Family fun and holiday shopping will be available.

Students from , and will be involved prominently in the upcoming Holiday Reading Festival to be held Dec. 2-4 at Crestwood Court. 
 
David Kuschel, assistant executive director, Communications and Legislative Services with the Cooperating School Districts of St. Louis, said artwork from Eureka and Fairway Elementary students will be displayed throughout the event, while the fiddle clubs from Blevins and Fairway Elementary Schools will perform at 2 p.m. on that Saturday, Dec. 3.

The event will be co-sponsored by Cooperating School Districts and CHARACTERplus, one of district's programs.

Kuschel said the Holiday Reading Festival also will feature many family activities, including a Scholastic Book Fair, visits from Clifford— the Big Red Dog, and Miss Frizzle from The Magic School Bus book series. In addition, Bruce Degen, author and illustrator of The Magic School Bus book series will be signing books.
 
"Everyone is invited to attend this great new family event," he said.

Admission is free, but books will be available for immediate purchase.

Proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fair benefit the Children’s Illustrated Art Museum and CHARACTERplus, which work to develop positive character traits in students across the St. Louis metropolitan region.
