requested a small, 10-feet wide easement at the front of for a portion of new city sidewalk along Bald Hill Road.
At the Board of Education meeting Thursday, district officials indicated the project is part of the city’s Safe-Routes-To-Schools Program. These type of safety programs are designed to decrease traffic and pollution, and increase the health of children and the community. They promote walking and biking to school, address parents’ safety concerns and create safer streets.
Because Rockwood board of education directors believed Geggie Elementary students will benefit from this program, they approved the request.
