Robert George will Continue Lindenwood University Speaker Series
Professor Robert George, a former judicial fellow of the United States Supreme Court, will continue Lindenwood University’s 2010-2011 Speaker Series at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011.
The event will be in Lindenwood’s Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room, located in the Spellmann Center, just west of the main campus entrance at Kingshighway and First Capitol Dr. in St. Charles. Admission is free and open to the public.
Dr. George’s presentation, “Natural Law: God and Human Rights,” is garnered from his vast experience and scholarly research in law, ethics, science, letters, civil law, humane letters, and juridical science, all disciplines in which he holds honorary doctorate degrees. Professor George has also lectured extensively in philosophy of law at Yale and Harvard Universities.
A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, he is the author of six books that deal in depth on issues of law, religion, and morality. George served on the President’s Council on Bioethics and was a presidential appointee to the Unites States Commission on Civil Rights. In addition, he is a recipient of the Presidential Citizens Medal and was honored with the Stanley Kelley, Jr., Teaching Award from Princeton’s Department of Politics.
The Lindenwood University Speaker Series, in its third year, brings a diverse selection of educators, scientists, scholars, and public figures to the Lindenwood campus to talk about a range of important and thought-provoking issues.
