Eureka Senior Gets Perfect ACT Score

Connor Tinen, a senior at , achieved a perfect score of 36 on the ACT test.  

He is the son of Carol and Christopher Tinen, who are Wildwood residents.

According to a Rockwood School District online update, Tinen has not decided where he will attend college. But he plans to dual major in mechanical engineering and economics, according to the release. 

During high school, Tinen has been active in various clubs including the Eureka Theater Company, National Honor Society, E!Crew, Student Council, Renaissance and Model UN.      

Eureka High Assistant Principal Dan Thoman describes Tinen as an exceptional student. "Besides being very driven in his coursework, Connor is a well-rounded and active student at Eureka High," said Thoman in the online report. "We are proud of his accomplishment, and we know he will succeed in college and beyond.”

The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and a student's composite score is the average of the four test scores, as described by Rockwood. ACT test scores are accepted by all major U.S. colleges. The abbreviation used to stand for American College Testing.
