Eureka Runners Compete in Footlocker Regional Cross Country Championship
Hannah Long qualifies for Dec. 8 race in San Diego with top 40 high school runners in the United States.
Eureka High School student-athletes Megan Cunningham, Hannah Long, Angie Sumner, Lauren VonSeelen and Rachael Yergensen competed in the Footlocker Regional Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, WI, on Nov. 24. This event is one of the most prestigious high school events for runners who hope to qualify for the Dec. 8 race in San Diego with the top 40 high school runners in the country.
Teacher and coach Kally Fischer said she is proud of these students. “These athletes represented Eureka High School and Missouri well,” said Fischer. “They all ran fast times, and I’m proud of their achievements.”
Yergensen placed second overall in the freshman/sophomore race. Long placed seventh, earning the opportunity to race in San Diego.
