Elementary Students Rewarded with a Stretch

When Geggie Elementary School students did well in a fundraiser, they were treated to pizza and a ride of their year.

Last Monday, various groups of students were rewarded for their participation in an Education Funding Group Card (EFG) fundraiser by being treated to lunch at Eureka's , as well as a ride in a very stretched, stretch limousine.

The funny thing was that the limousine seriously was as long as the restaurant, as evidenced in the accompanying photos.

The Rockwood Schools Foundation sponsored the EFG Card Program. Students sold EFG Cards for $10, which entitled buyers to 15 "buy one/get one free" offers from local restaurants and businesses.

The EFG Card Program provides funding for educational projects and activities that are not within the district's budget. Proceeds from the campaign are used for students in all Rockwood-participating schools, and go toward efforts such as teacher grants, Dream Catcher Scholarships, and other educational activities.  Card sales began on Feb. 11 and ran through Feb. 22.
