College Fair for Rockwood Students Slated Sept. 17

More than 100 colleges and universities will be represented during the upcoming districtwide College Fair for Rockwood School District.

All high school students, families and guardians can gather information, ask questions and pick up materials from 100-plus U.S. college representatives on Monday, Sept. 17.

This year's Rockwood College Fair will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at , 1780 Hawkins Road in .

College representatives also will share information about the college application process.

Rockwood's high school counselors indicate the annual college fair is a great starting point for students beginning to look at colleges, as well as an opportunity for high school seniors to meet with representatives regarding the following, important elements pertinent to the college selection process:

  • course offerings
  • admission and financial aid requirements
  • college life
  • college groups and clubs
  • scholarships

Last year, the districtwide college fair was held at in , and .

Each year, Rockwood's annual college fair is rotated among the district's four high schools.

It's not being used by MoDOT nor are there any solid plans to develop it in the near future. His guess was that the property owner is farming it to obtain a lesser property tax assessment.
