Eureka Lacrosse - A Rich History and a Bright Future

Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the USA.....and in Eureka! Read about the history of our boys Lacrosse program, the Eureka Lacrosse Club, and find out how our 2013 season is going!

Lacrosse in Eureka is fast, furious, and flourishing.  The Eureka Lacrosse Club was established in 2002 with 21 players.  A Junior Varsity team was formed at that time and Eureka Lacrosse was off and running. The program has continued to grow each year.

The Varsity high school team placed 2nd in the Division II Missouri State Championship in 2009 and was moved up to the Division I league.  In 2010, the team placed 2nd in the Division I Missouri State Championship.

The high school program currently has 58 players on three teams - Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman.  The Varsity record stands at 9 Wins and 5 Losses with 4 league games remaining in the season.  We were 2-1 against the other schools in the Rockwood School District.

A youth feeder team was established in 2008 with Eureka youth players participating in the Lafayette program.  In 2010, a Eureka youth program was established with 32 players in the 7th and 8th grades.  This team went on to become the 2010 St. Louis Youth Lacrosse Association Champions.  Teams for the 5th and 6th grades were added in 2011 and a team was established for the 3rd and 4th grade in 2012.  In 2013, there are 99 players on 5 teams in the youth program.

The teams are supported by seven coaches at the high school level.  The youth teams are supported by 9 parent coaches and 3 high school coaches.  All coaches are US Lacrosse trained and certified.  A Board of Directors and the club membership provides guidance and fund-raising in support of the teams.

The players in this organization have a love for the game and excel as athletes, students, and members of the community.  Many of the players have received honors at the State level.  We are honored to have four of our current players representing Missouri on the 2013 MO-22 Elite team.  They are Jake Martin, John Constant, Alex Pfeil, and Sean Conway.
