Wildwood Receives MUNI Award for Parks, Trails

And the winner is..., for parks and trails development that connects major population areas to the city's planned Town Center and extends a bike path along the Meramec River.

St. Louis County Municipal League representatives recognized various West St. Louis County communities and officials for excellence in municipal government during the group's first annual MUNI Awards about a week ago at the Kemp Auto Museum in Chesterfield.

The annual Buzz Westfall Award for Excellence in Local Government was presented to Scott Douglass, mayor of Clarkson Valley, who was recognized for the hours he donates helping other cities.

League members represent more than 90 percent of the St. Louis County population. The entity is a countywide, nonpartisan, voluntary, not-for-profit corporation that was created in 1918.

Clayton was one of the first Missouri cities to require Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for public buildings and became the first Green Power Community in Missouri.
