Wildwood Group Evaluates Ward Redistricting

A new committee of eight residents was appointed at Monday evening's city council meeting to analyze present factors of the ward's population and possible redistricting.

Wildwood Mayor Tim Woerther recommended and appointed the following eight residents at Monday's city council meeting to be members of a . Each of the appointees had to be ratified by city council members.

Woerther said the city's guidelines called for each of the appointees for this type of task to be voted on individually. Each one had to receive at least 11 affirmative votes from among the 16 council members.

At Monday's meeting, three of the 16 council members were absent:  Ed Marshall, Holly Parks and David Sewell. However, each of the appointees received unanimous votes from those council members at the meeting.

Woerther also said the city's charter required that these committee members could not be serving on any city-related board or commission.

  • Mike Pearce, Ward 3
  • Michael Lee, Ward 4
  • Betsey Vanderheyden, Ward 5
  • David Ferman, Ward 6
  • Michael Rollins, Ward 7
  • Bill Morff, Ward 8

City Administrator Dan Dubruiel will head up the committee's efforts. He said they likely would meet three or four times in the next month to complete their tasks.
