Which Democrat Won Nomination for 2nd Congressional District Race?

The Secretary of State Office is still waiting for two St. Louis County precincts to report the results. With 468 of 470 precincts reporting, Glenn Koenen is in the lead by only 43 votes. Eureka candidate was George Weber.

With 468 out of 470 precincts reporting, Glenn Koenen, of Oakville, is winning the race for the Democratic nomination for the 2nd Congressional District with 7872 votes, according to the Seceretary of State election results website.

Koenen is in the lead by only 43 votes over Harold Whitfield, of Kirkwood, who has 7,829 votes as of 9 a.m. George (Boots) Weber, of , is currently in third place with 7,533 votes. Marshall Works, of Ballwin, has only 4,523 votes.

A spokeswoman with the Secretary of State Office said they are waiting final votes from two precincts in St. Louis County.

Interestingly enough, the St. Louis County election website's unofficial results shows Whitfield in the lead with 6,702 votes and Koenen with 6,506 votes.

At 9:40 a.m., a spokesperson with the St. Louis County Elections Department said they were still in the process of counting the votes, but could provide no further details.

The winner will face Ann Wagner in the November elections who won the Republican nomination by a landslide.
