Second District May Get Third Candidate

Randy Jotte would join Ann Wagner and Ed Martin in the race for the Republican nomination in Missouri's second congressional district.

The field of Republican candidates in the field for Missouri's newly-redrawn second congressional district may be set to grow.

Randy Jotte, a one time Webster Groves City Council member who most recently ran unsuccessfully for spots in the Missouri General Assembly and St. Louis County Council, has launched a website and other campaign apparatus to consider a bid for Congress. The news was first reported Monday by PoliticMo.

Jotte's website indicates he is a 1978 graduate of , and is currently an ER doctor at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Former RNC Co-Chair Ann Wagner and Attorney Ed Martin already are in the race to succeed U.S. Representative Todd Akin. Akin, R-Wildwood, is running for the U.S. Senate.

PoliticMO reports Jotte plans to attend an upcoming candidate forum featuring Wagner and Martin before deciding on entering the contest.
