Moore Gives More and More Volunteerism

Ann Moore was presented a proclamation at Tuesday evening's Eureka board of aldermen meeting.

Eureka's Woman of the Year 2003 now has a day named after her.  Longtime resident Ann Moore was surprised Tuesday evening with a proclamation from Eureka Mayor Kevin Coffey and board of aldermen, based on her contributions to the city.

"Ann is someone who puts her heart and soul into helping the city.  Everything she does, she does with zest," said Coffey.  "She's strong-willed and committed to the things she gets behind. And they are things that wouldn't have been the same without her caring and her time."

Moore has been active in Eureka-based activities for many years and is not compensated for 95 percent of her involvement, although she does work part-time for some city functions, said Marilyn Leistner, alderwoman for Eureka's Ward 2.
