Lone Elk Park Bridge to be Replaced

This bridge is one of 802 Safe and Sound bridges projected to be repaired or replaced in Missouri before 2013.

Missouri Department of Transportation officials through their contractor Krupp Construction Inc. will begin to rebuild a bridge on the Interstate-44 north outer road leading to , starting Monday, Feb. 13.

A MoDOT announcement on Wednesday indicated crews will start to construct a one-lane bypass for the bridge. They anticipate moving traffic to the bypass by Feb. 24. When the bypass opens, a temporary signal will direct traffic along the bypass.

Officials will work with park authorities to adjust the signal for both Eagle Day on March 18 and Bat Day on April 7.

The project is scheduled to be complete in late April.
