Legislative Forum Held in West St. Louis County

PHOTO GALLERY: The annual legislative forum held Friday by West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce leaders provided beneficial updates about federal, state and local issues.

About 70 attendees at the annual Legislative Forum hosted by the West St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce secured helpful updates from a variety of Missouri's various elected officials on Friday morning at Forest Hills Country Club in Clarkson Valley, MO.

The chamber covers members from , Clarkson Valley, Ellisville, Ballwin, Winchester, Manchester, Twin Oaks and Valley Park.

Attorney Jon Bopp, a Wildwood resident, chairs the chamber's executive committee. He welcomed attendees, and turned the floor over to Chuck Healy, owner of Handyman Matters and vice chair of governmental affairs for the chamber, to introduce guest speakers.

Arthur Floyd, project manager for Glenn Construction Co., spoke as the sponsor of this year's forum. "As experts for building educational projects, we're proud to be part of this outstanding community," he said. "Whether we've renovating school buildings, creating new performance theaters, enhancing parking lots, or building something new, we are pleased to be involved with improvements that are essential to students' learning."

"Realizing we're all working within the limitations of dollars available, it's encouraging to see investments in educational opportunities," he said.

Floyd said after 24 years of handling the type of projects they do, it was nice to see strong relationships among the people with whom West County residents live, work and raise families.

He said one of Glenn Construction's most recent projects is the $400 million expansion of the Magic House in Kirkwood.
