Coffey has served as mayor of Eureka for the past eight years. "It's great to have the (voting) results, and I'm proud to work for Eureka for four more years," he said. "It's a pleasure to continue serving."

He said 1,917 Eurekan voters was a fabulous turnout, especially considering that there were no national issues involved. "I suspect Eureka will have one of the highest percentage voter turnouts in the St. Louis area, and that's something that Eureka residents should be proud of," he said.
