Final List of Candidates Ready for April

Here's an update regarding all candidates who have filed for April 3 elections. Also, Wildwood hosts a redistricting meeting this evening at 6:30 p.m.

As a service to Eureka-Wildwood Patch readers, Patch first offered a snapshot on Dec. 14 of the municipal races affecting Eureka and Wildwood residents:  .

Then Patch provided a preholiday update on Dec. 23:  .

Now here's a final look at candidates who filed by the 5 p.m. deadline on Jan. 17.

ROCKWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT (a total of two board of directors will be elected for three-year terms each):

  1. Geoff Rigabar of Wildwood
  2. Victor Hieken of Ellisville
  3. Sherri L. Rogers of Chesterfield
  4. Jennifer Kelly of Chesterfield
  5. William (Bill) Brown of Eureka

EUREKA BOARD OF ALDERMEN:

Terms for three of Eureka's board of aldermen are up in April:

  • Bob Berry, Ward 1
  • Robert "Bob" Kee Jr., Ward 2
  • Don Beckerle, Ward 3

All three incumbents filed for re-election.

Margaret "Maggie" Kloeppel also filed for Ward 3.

Ed Marshall

Tim Woerther

Ward 1 (two candidates to be elected):

  1. Larry W. McGowen
  2. Dave Geile
  3. Ray Kollar

Ward 2 (one candidate to be elected):

  1. Randy Ladd

Ward 3 (one candidate to be elected):

  1. Tammy Shea
  2. Richard Sturman

Ward 4: 

  1. Jack L. Clark

Ward 5: (two candidates to be elected):

  1. Debra Smith McCutchen

Ward 6:

  1. Colleen Murphy
  2. Important Note:  Mark Wright had filed, but officially withdrew on Jan. 11.

Editor's Note:  Terms of the current board of directors for all three fire districts for Eureka and Wildwood areas — , , and — are NOT up during 2012.

A Candidates Forum for Rockwood School District Board of Education candidates will be held on March 6 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Crestview Middle School in Ellisville.

Rockwood Stakeholders for Real Solutions will be holding a series of Candidate Forums, during the month of March at various locations throughout the district; Fenton, Eureka and Ballwin. More information to follow in the next few days. Get Informed - Get Involved - Get out to vote on April 3rd!

Hi! I sure hope he gets found quickly... we have a tortoise exactly like this.. but much smaller,Read More who is approximately a year old... they can be very fast... so sorry he got away from you! Ours is named, "Turpeester"... I'm sure whatever he is doing he is having a fun time, out running around... I will pray for Leo making it back to you!!! Good luck!

How does farming a piece of property instead of allowing it to sit vacant actually decrease its tax assessments? It doesn't change the zoning. What is the zoning of the property? If residential, how much corn do I need to plant on my extra property to decrease my property assessment?
