Eurekan Will Respond to Governor's Address

Attorney and Speaker-Elect Tim Jones will address Missourians Tuesday after Gov. Jay Nixon's annual State of the State presentation.

Rep. Tim Jones (R-Eureka) and Sen. Kurt Schaefer (R-Columbia) will deliver the Republican response to Democrat Gov. Jay Nixon's State of the State annual address on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Nixon is expected to detail his strategy for creating jobs and moving Missouri's economy forward.

The address will be streamed live through the state's Web portal:  MO.gov.

"I am honored to deliver the Republican response to the State of the State in conjunction with Senator Schaefer," said Jones in a press statement. "The Republican majority in the Missouri General Assembly has worked extremely hard to put our state on track, and we will continue to do so during the 2012 legislative session."

Jones, a resident, stated he looks forward to the opportunity to speak to Missourians about commitment to the well-being of the state and about a responsible, fiscally-conservative approach to government.

Jones, who was selected during the summer of 2011 as Speaker-Elect by the House Republican caucus, was elected in November 2006 as the representative for the 89th District. The district covers portions of St. Louis County.

He will be running for his fourth term during 2012 , which will include parts of Franklin and St. Louis Counties.

Jones practices law at Doster Ullom, LLC. He and his wife, Suzanne, have two daughters.
