e-Submission of County Records Now Possible

For the first time, Wildwood and Eureka residents can submit paperwork electronically to the St. Louis County recorder of deeds' office.

Electronic submissions, or "e-recording," is a new option made available as of Monday for residents, announced Janice Hammonds, St. Louis County recorder of deeds.

Hammonds said county officials contracted with eRecordingPartners.net to allow residents to electronically transmit documents instead of delivering paper copies to the recorder's office at 41 South Central Ave., in Clayton, MO.

"Although e-recording does not replace the traditional recording method, it provides a convenient, paperless alternative, benefiting both the customers and the environment by allowing for electronic submission of documents via Internet," the recorder's office said in a news release.

"Document security and tracking are enhanced, and document and payment errors are reduced."

The release said the electronic five-step workflow process (submit, receive, review, record and return) allows real estate purchases and other transactions to be completed more quickly because they can be processed faster.

E-recording supports Missouri's statutory recording standardization requirements.

Anyone interested in e-recording first should contact the recorder of deeds' office by emailing GSmith4@stlouisco.com, to learn how to get started.
