April 2 Election Results for Wildwood, Eureka

Following is a summary of local election results from April 2, 2013. The "unofficial official" tallies will still need to be certified by county election officials before they will be considered "final, final."

Elected as unopposed candidates in the April 2 election were:

  • Michael Wiegand, Eureka City Marshal
  • Wes Sir, Eureka Ward 1 Alderman
  • Marilyn Leistner, Eureka Ward 2 Alderman
  • Shannon Britt, Eureka Ward 3 Alderman
  • Larry McGowen, Wildwood Ward 1 Council Member
  • Ed Marshall, Wildwood Ward 2 Council Member
  • Katie Dodwell, Wildwood Ward 4 Council Member
  • Dave Bertolino, Wildwood Ward 5 Council Member
  • Ron James, Wildwood Ward 6 Council Member
  • Jeff Levitt, Wildwood Ward 7 Council Member
  • Paul Wojciechowski, Wildwood Ward 8 Council Member
  • Tim Flora, Metro West Fire Protection District, Board of Director

Two Rockwood School District Board of Education director positions were filled from among four candidates, with voters giving the nod to persons who will serve their first term:  Loralee Mondl (9,668 votes) and Jeffrey Morrell (7,815 votes). The other two candidates were board incumbents Janet Strate (4,250 votes) and Steve Banton (4,708 votes).

The Eureka Fire Protection District Board of Directors one slot was won by board incumbent Francis "Butch" Oberkramer with 1,068 votes. Wally Wuelling was the other candidate; he had 873 votes.

Cole McNary was the other candidate, who received 3,742 votes.

Among the two candidates for Wildwood City Council's Ward 3, Sue Cullinane received the most votes, 367. The other candidate, Marc Perez, received 222 votes.

Proposition S, a $38.4 million no-tax rate increase bond initiative, failed with 52.98 percent against and 47.02 percent for.

Proposition P, a parks-related initiative passed, with 57,448 votes for it, and 51,214 against it.
