The lawsuit filed April 26 states Dobner was driving his 2011 Volkswagen too fast under the circumstances. It states he crossed several lanes of traffic and lost control of his vehicle, hitting the rear of Dunn’s 2004 Hyundai Elantra.

The collision pushed Dunn’s car into the path of an oncoming Freightliner tractor-trailer. She hit the trailer and another car before running into a roadside ditch.

The suit said Dobner failed to decrease speed, swerve or keep his vehicle under control to prevent the accident.

Both Dobner and an attorney representing Dunn declined to comment on the accident or the lawsuit.
