Wildwood Woman Dies From Boating Accident Injuries

The Lake of the Ozarks recorded its first water-related fatality of the year when a Wildwood woman injured a week ago died from her injuries, according to a police and fire report in LakeNewsOnline. Visitation is Thursday.

Wildwood resident Margaret "Peggy" Reavy sustained blunt-force trauma and severe head injuries in a , as reported in Eureka-Wildwood Patch. She was transported by life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia MO, that night, and she died there a week later on Friday about 7:51 p.m., according to a report published by LakeNewsOnline headquartered in Camdenton, MO.

Reavy, 53, sustained the injuries while she was a passenger in tritoon boat that was in a near head-on boating accident the evening of May 18.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Division report, the accident occurred about 9:53 p.m. May 18 when a 2000 Sea Ray runabout driven by Thomas Rainey, 59, of Lees Summit, MO, ran over the top of a 2008 Bennington tritoon driven by Daniel Reavy, 49, of .

Both Rainey and Daniel Reavy were charged with Boating While Intoxicated.

Patch reader Carol Kouba Young emailed that Reavy is a well-known, extremely well-liked business owner in Creve Coeur:  Snip-Snip Inc. on Olive Blvd. in Dierberg's Heritage Plaza. "I've been her client and she's been my friend for many years," Young stated.

Margaret "Peggy" Reavy OBITUARY:

Reavy was the wife of Dan Reavy, and the mother of Wylie and Weasel. She was the daughter of Ed Keady Jr. and the late Jane Keady (nee Riegel); and sister of Kathy (Scott) Wessel, Judy (Gary) Feigenbutz, Mary Jane (George) Petrunich and Ed (Laurie) Keady. She was the daughter-in-law of Claire Reavy and the late George Reavy. She was the sister-in-law of Michele (Greg) Buyan, Brenda (Michael) Deering, Todd Reavy, Jim (Michele) Reavy and the late George Reavy.

She was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Memorial visitation will be at the Family Center at Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, in Ballwin on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A memorial Mass will be held at Holy Infant Catholic Church in Ballwin on Friday at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Louis Humane Society or ARF—Tony LaRussa's Animal Rescue Foundation.
