Wildwood Man Hit, Choked Wife, Police Say

Leonard J. Shelton is charged with second-degree domestic assault.

A Wildwood man is accused of striking and choking his wife Aug. 17 at the couple’s home.

Leonard Shelton, 43, of the 600 block of Boggan Pointe Court in Wildwood, was charged Aug. 18 with second-degree domestic assault. 

St. Louis County Police said Shelton struck his wife in the face, threw her and choke her. Police said officers saw injuries on the woman’s face, neck and chest.

Shelton posted 10 percent of a $25,000 bond and was released from the St. Louis County Justice Center last weekend.

Shelton and his immediate family are barred from having any contact with the woman or her children.
