Wildwood Man Caught Pocketing Handheld Game System, Police Say

Eureka Police said a woman with Erik Lonsberry at the GameStop in Eureka helped identify him.

A Wildwood man was caught on video surveillance stealing a Sony PlayStation Vita handheld game console in Eureka, police said.

Erik Lonsberry, 30, of the first block of Terrace Hills Estates in Wildwood, was charged July 31 with stealing as a third offense.

Eureka Police said Lonsberry was seen on surveillance video stealing the PlayStation Vita May 25 from a Gamestop at 169 Eureka Towne Center Drive in Eureka. A woman who was with Lonsberry also identified him, police said.

Eureka Police said Lonsberry had two previous stealing-related offenses within the past 10 years. Lonsberry was twice found guilty of burglary and felony stealing, once in 2010 and again in 2011.

Lonsberry is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $7,500.
