Two Vehicles Collide on Highway 100

A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Route 100 and Booness Lane in Wildwood at approximately 3:30 p.m. One driver was transported to an area hospital.

Wreckage now is being cleared at the intersection of Route 100 and Booness Lane in Wildwood from a two-vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Metro West Fire Protection District firefighters and paramedics, as well as officers responded to and handled the scene.

The male driver of a what appeared to be a van was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, with what Capt. Dave Kupfer described as minor injuries. The van was damaged in the rear.

The female driver of a gray Pontiac GC car was still at the accident scene, waiting to be picked up by family members. Her car was damaged in the front end.

Kupfer said firefighters applied a product called "oil dry" so that the highway would not be slick. Wreckers had just arrived on the scene, and Kupfer thought the accident and highway would be cleared shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Emergency responders encourage anyone in that area of the accident to slow down and obey the direction of the officers. "We want people (drivers) to pay attention to where they are directed to drive, for their safety and ours," said Kupfer, noting that the driver of a Bud Light truck wove right through the middle of the accident, just to not be delayed by it.
