Two-Driver Crash Occurs at Eureka Intersection

At approximately 1:40 p.m. on Monday afternoon, a collision occurred at one of Eureka's busiest intersections when a driver ran a stop sign.

A two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 1:40 p.m. Monday in Eureka at the intersection of West Fourth Street and North Central Avenue. No injuries were sustained, however the crash took off most of the rear-end and back tires of the red Grand AM-SE involved. A "permit driver" sign was visible from the rear-view window of the Grand AM.

The other vehicle involved as a blue F150 Ford truck.

Sgt. Jason Randell of the said the 18-year-old driver of the Grand AM, who is not a resident of the immediate area, was searching for . Randell said the driver was intent on trying to follow directions and did not realize he had run a stop sign.

The driver of the Grand AM was heading west on West Fourth Street, and the driver of the truck was heading north on North Central Avenue when the two collided.

The Gand AM was towed from the scene.
