Three Family Members Overturn in I-44 Accident

An early Monday morning, one-vehicle accident sends three family members to the hospital.

Three family members were taken to Mercy Hospital after a one-vehicle accident on eastbound Interstate 44 at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Monica Skelton, 40, from Rogers, AR, was driving her 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck eastbound on Interstate 44 at mile marker 232 when she lost control.

Passengers were 6-year-old Olivia Skelton and 11-year-old Pierson Skelton.

The driver exited the roadway and struck the median, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol, before she overcorrected and re-entered the interstate. The truck then overturned.

The driver was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities. Her truck was totaled and towed from the accident scene.
