Route FF Accident Sends Driver to Hospital

A 19-year-old Pacific resident was driving too fast for conditions, according to authorities, and struck a tree off the roadway.

Pacific resident Anna Scanga, 19, was traveling southbound on Route FF Friday evening at a speed too fast to make a curve in the road near Wilderness Drive. Her 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe sports utility vehicle (SUV) left the roadway on the right-hand side and eventually struck a tree, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Scanga was the only person involved in the accident, which occurred at 11 p.m. in Jefferson County near Eureka.

She was wearing her safety belt, according to the report. Due to minor injuries, she was taken by a Eureka Fire Protection Department EMS crew to Mercy Hospital.

Scanga's Tahoe was totaled, and was towed from the accident scene.
