Pacific Man Killed in Wreck at I-44 Near Six Flags Road

The wreck involved three westbound vehicles at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday night.

A 39-year-old Pacific man driving a Yamaha motorcycle was killed in a three-car accident on Interstate 44 on Saturday night near the Six Flags Road exit.

Clyde J. Cooper was killed after the front of his motorcycle hit the rear of a Jeep Grand Cherokee while both traveled westbound on I-44. The impact ejected Cooper from the motorcycle and he was later struck by another westbound vehicle, a Chevy Blazer, in which the driver was trying to avoid the accident.

Cooper was taken to St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 9 p.m., about 40 minutes after the accident occurred.
