Pacific Man Charged with Murder in Connection to Fatal Overdose

Authorities have charged a 27-year-old Pacific man with murder in connection to a fatal heroin overdoes that killed a mother of three children.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Christopher M. Albrecht, of the 1500 block of West Pacific Street, was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree murder and heroin distribution.

On April 17, Danielle Jeanine Barlow, 32, died after overdosing on heroin at her condominium in Pacific. The heroin used by Barlow and her boyfriend that night had been supplied by Albrecht, according to investigators with the Pacific Police and Franklin County Drug Task Force.

Barlow's overdose came shortly after her boyfriend suffered an overdose of his own. Barlow and her 11-year-old son were able to revive him, and Barlow then took another dose. She was found dead the next morning.

Barlow's mother spoke with the Post-Dispatch and said she hopes the charges and her daughters death send a warning to other drug dealers.

Albrecht is currently being held on a $100,000 bond.
