Minivan Driver Loses Control in Right-hand Turn

A young female was taken to the hospital Tuesday after hitting a utility pole.

Kelly Pool was attempting to make a right-hand turn at 6204 Highway PP while traveling north in a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan when she lost control of the minivan and exited Route PP to the left. The accident occurred at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday.

Per a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Pool's minivan struck a mailbox and utility pole. She was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital by a North Jefferson County Ambulance crew.

Pool is a 23-year-old resident of House Springs. She was wearing a safety belt, according to authorities.

Her minivan received extensive damage and was towed from the accident scene.

There were no other drivers, passengers or vehicles involved.
