Marine Packages Sent by Eureka Firefighters

Eureka Fire Protection District staff lead delivery of specialty items to U.S. Marines.

Thirteen boxes of care items were sent Friday to Afghanistan to U.S. Marines from firefighters, staff, family members and volunteers.

"Thank you everyone! You should all be proud of helping out," said the district's Deputy Chief Randy Gabel.

"It was great team effort on all of our part, as well as several supporters of EFPD that contributed."

Gabel said, "I am quite sure our Marines will be very happy to receive these packages, and we all pray for their quick and safe return."
