House Springs Man Fatally Injured in Pickup Accident
An 80-year-old man from nearby House Springs died in an early Friday morning pickup truck accident.
Gene Keough, an 80-year-old House Springs man, died at 1:35 a.m. Friday morning when the 2007 Dodge Dakota pickup truck he was driving on South Byrnesville Road traveled off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.
The accident happened at South Byrnesville Road, south of Indian Valley Road in Jefferson County, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol report.
He was wearing a safety belt, stated authorities, but the truck was totaled.

Keough was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene of the accident, and his body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue by Schaeffers Mortuary.
