Highway FF Still Blocked; Accident Wreckage Just Cleared

Authorities still cleaning the roadway, while residents wait to get to homes near accident scene just south of Eureka.

Reported at 12:21 p.m.: While the wreckage from this morning's was just cleared, Missouri Highway Patrol officials said it may be another 30 minutes before traffic can resume on Highway FF.

Tim Shaw, Missouri Department of Transportation motorist assist operator, is diverting traffic at the intersection of Highways 109 and FF, and trying to help motorists with alternative routes.  "It's a little tough for me, though, because I'm typically on Highway 44 helping motorists," he said.

Kim Johnson, 46, and fiancee Bob Crews, 50, waited patiently to try to get to their horses near the accident scene, who they said would be impatiently waiting to be fed.

Johnson and Crews are from Fenton, but said they are constantly here on Highway FF to tend the horses.  "You have to be really careful around this curve and when you turn on or off this road (Highway FF)," Crews said.

Johnson said there often are wrecks on Highway FF, and it gets a little tricky with motorcycle riders on it, too.  She said they worry a bit about safety because they drive a small car, a Festiva.
