June Rowden, 79, died as a result of injuries from a two-car collision that occurred at 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Highway 30 at Cedar Hill Road. According to a Missouri Highway Patrol report, Rowden was driving a 1991 Ford Escort, and attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of eastbound Highway 30. She pulled into the path of Cedar Hill resident Joshua Mattingly.
Mattingly, 33, was driving a 2002 Dodge Stratus. The front of his vehicle struck the passenger side of Rowden's car.
Rowden was not wearing a safety belt, according to authorities, but Mattingly was.
Both vehicles were totaled.
