Eureka Woman Ejected in Accident After Striking Rock

A local woman was thrown from her car during Sunday's snow-shower weather.

After 48-year-old Ruth Luedde, a Eureka resident, failed to negotiate a curve to the left on Twin River Road Sunday afternoon, her 1999 Saturn SL2 traveled off the right side of the roadway. The car then struck a rock and overturned. Luedde, who has not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.

The accident happened at 1:09 p.m., just east of River Bend Drive in Jefferson County.

Luedde had been traveling eastbound.

She was taken by a North Jefferson County Ambulance crew to St. Anthony's Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident.

Her car received extensive damage, and was towed from the scene. No other motorists or passengers were involved in the accident.
