Two motorists were heading westbound on Interstate 44, west of Missouri Route 141, when one driver's car hit the back of the other at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Both vehicles exited I-44 to the left. Cooper's car went under the median cables and came to rest facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate, stated Trooper A.J. Michels.
