Citations, Arrests Made in Latest Round Up

Results were shared from the most recent "Click It Or Ticket" effort conducted in Eureka, including a fugitive arrest.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Missouri participated in this statewide effort to get more motorists to buckle up to save lives.

These particular traffic citations included one seat belt ticket, three speeding tickets, one ticket for no insurance and three improper registration tickets. Wiegand said there was one fugitive arrest and one arrest for stealing and minor in possession of alcohol as a result of the enforcement, as well. He said the fugitive was a local person who had a warrant for his arrest by the Eureka Police for stealing.

Despite evidence proving the benefits of wearing a seat belt, seven out of 10 Missourians killed in traffic crashes are unbuckled, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol records.

“Safety belts are your single best defense in a crash,” said Wiegand in a news statement. “Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and Arrive Alive.”
