Cardinals' David Freese Wrecks Rover to Avoid Deer in Wildwood

St. Louis Cardinals' player and 2011 World Series MVP David Freese was not injured when his SUV struck a tree in Wildwood Thursday, but his vehicle had to be towed from the accident scene.

St. Louis Cardinal third baseman David Freese was involved in a one-vehicle traffic accident on Thursday at 2:31 p.m. when he lost control of his 2011 black Range Rover to avoid deer on the roadway, according to St. Louis County Police. Freese then struck a tree at the intersection of Wildhorse Creek and Rieger roads in Wildwood.

Freese, 29, was not injured during the incident, according to authorities.

St. Louis County Police Department officers responded to the incident where a supervisor on the scene spoke to Freese, and confirmed the information.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. St. Louis County Police spokesperson Randy Vaughn tells Patch no other investigations are under way.
