14 Stats from Local Law Enforcement Crackdowns in July

DWI arrests were made, speeders ticketed and plenty of warnings given as the result of the targeted operations.

The Eureka Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) each conducted enforcement efforts aimed at cracking down on drunk driving and other unsafe traffic violations during the month of July. 

The MSHP's Operation ARREST spanned an eight hour period that started at 7 p.m. July 12. It involved six officers and was focused on identifying hazardous motor vehicle operations.

The agency released the following stats as a result of the crackdown:

  • Total vehicles stopped: 65
  • Warnings given: 62
  • Hazardous moving violations: 14
  • Seat belt violations: 10
  • Non-moving violations: 10
  • Speeding violations: 9
  • Driver's Licenses violations: 8
  • DWI arrests: 7
  • No Proof of Insurance violations: 6
  • Drug arrests: 3
  • Following too close violations: 2
Eureka's Police Department conducted a Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over Crackdown over the Independence Day holiday weekend, from July 3-7.

The operation did not result in any DWI arrests, but a number of other tickets were issued and one arrest was made. Here are the official numbers: 
  • Speeding violations: 9
  • Improper lane violations: 1
  • Fugitive arrest: 1
