Memorial for Norma Moranville

A funeral was held Sept. 10 for this retired Rockwood School District teacher and counselor.

Norma Moranville, 72, Labadie, died Sept. 3, 2011. She retired from the after 30 years of service.

She was the wife of Jim Moranville, Labadie; daughter of the late Norman S. Nixon and wife Marie F., nee Held; sister of Joan Bartley and her husband, the late George Leo, Winfield, and Jean Grant and husband Dennis, St. Charles; and niece of Harold Held and wife Maureen, St. Louis, and Florence Nixon, Cuba, MO.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Lindenwood College in 1960, and began her career as a physical education teacher at both Westridge Elementary and Crestview Junior High School (name of school at the time).

Moranville became a guidance counselor at (name of school at the time) after earning her master's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Since 2007, she had been battling cancer.

A funeral service was held Sept. 10 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO. Entombment was in Our Lady Cemetery, Lake Saint Louis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.

The family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, 508 E. 14th St, Washington.
