Rev. Douglas Balzer died Thursday. He was a resident.
He was the husband of Michele Balzer; father of Dr. Christian (Dr. Shireen Ghorbani) Balzer and Dr. Alexandra (Dr. Steve Caloudas) Balzer; son of Donald and Gertrude Balzer; and brother of Donna Senechal.
He was pastor of in Wildwood for 29 years. He joined St. Paul's in 1983, during the congregation's 100th anniversary.
Visitation was Friday evening at the Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway in Ballwin.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church; interment was in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.
