Wyman Continues To Grow & Help Area Youth

Wyman Center is a nonprofit organization with headquarters in Eureka which enables teens from economically disadvantaged circumstances to lead successful lives.

This summer, Wyman Center and the surrounding Eureka-Wildwood community saw the completion of the S. Lee Kling Hall for Youth Leadership and Service. This hall honors S. Lee Kling - a St. Louis businessman - and his dedication to community service, patriotism for his country, and devotion to his friends and family. To reflect these and other values, the hall will include six thematic classrooms that feature a different theme from Lee's life.

Themes approved by the Kling family include: family and friends, career and business, patriotism, community service, politics and government, and education.

Within the walls of Kling Hall, programming for youth will include both theory and practical lessons in leadership, civics and politics, business, and service delivered through conferences and hands-on projects in which youth will learn and practice the integration of these leadership themes.

Kling Hall will also be the area's newest state-of-the-art event facility that outside groups can rent for a variety of events such as weddings, parties, and business meetings. Annually more than 10,000 guests will utilize Kling Hall and the variety of other indoor and outdoor venues that are onsite through Experience Wyman's environmental education, retreats, meetings, conferences, and programs for schools, church, and community groups.

Most importantly, young people will come away from thier experiences in all our programs with lessons in the values that were the hallmark of Lee's life: hard work, loyalty to people and principles, and the pursuit of personal success and excellence while promoting and enabling the same for others.
