Community Corner

Boy Scouts Scouting For Food

Local Boy Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs will be participating in the Greater St. Louis area's largest  food drive.  Rooted in the idea of turning words into action this community service project is designed to help fill the shelves of local food pantries.

On Saturday November 12th the scouts will be out distributing grocery bags.  Then on Saturday November 19th the scouts will be back to collect donated food.

How can the community help?  First is by being prepared to donate food.  While shopping look for nutrious  food items  such as peanut butter, cans of chili, soups, tuna, cans of fruits and vegetables, pasta sauces and evaporate milk. Secondly, on days of the event drivers be especially attentive  for scouts as they go door to door. Thirdly, put your donated food items out so that scouts can see them for pick-up.
