What Has Happened Since Filing Date - Feb 28

This might be of interest to independent voters out there.

I guess the biggie was the local election held April 3 when we had about 15 percent voter turnout.

The Democrats have had little activity, as the national scene has been dominated by the race for the Republican Presidential selection, which has really almost come to a selection as one of the major spokesman withdrew last week.

They tried to hold a caucus in Missouri and the first one failed. Recently they succeeded and it seems the contest chose Ron Paul, the least in vote-getters of the four major candidates.

It seems that this might be one of the most interesting elections shaping up for 2012. If Mitt Romney is chosen to run against the sitting president, we will have the first Mormon nominee against the first black President.

But just today, I guess my blog writing has begun to show merit as I am getting some thanks for discussing activities in which I have been involved, so with more than 300 common sense and historical content articles involved at no cost to the readers, I have to believe this is the year that my program of running with no fundraising will be a success. In each of the two Congress efforts of 2004 and 2006, the incumbent raised and spent almost $1,000,000. In the 2010 State Senate race, I spent $190 while the Republicans spent another $1,000,000 to win.

Many of my blogs are carried in Facebook postings, and I get information from all over the world from time to time. Here is one that came today from Americans-Elect. It stated,

"Dear George:

Be A Part of History!  We're ready to submit our ballot access petition in Missouri but we have one important step to take first, and we need your help.
To comply with state laws, we need 10 electors to the Electoral College from the State of Missouri - one in each Congressional District and two at large."

So since, in the Second Congressional District, the President seems hated and the Republicans have just selected the candidate ranking number four at the time and my publications seem to be drawing good remarks as they are read, now the strongest Independent group with a new outlook on government even asked me to be on their Missouri Petition as they do the things to select their candidate for President.

They might even like me enough to make me their 2012 Candidate for U.S. President.

All this has taken place in the roughly six weeks since our filing closed.

Yesterday, my treating physician stopped by, and could find no resurgence of the cancer that laid me low on election day 2010, so it appears I may be ready to talk to them and still stay in the District 2 race. With a national race to run and a loss here in 2010, I don't look for President Obama to spend much effort or time
in Missouri in the next six months, so I feel free to do what I feel is right.
