The New Brokaw Book

More looks to the future. I recommend this book.

A daughter of Eureka took part in an uplifting occasion on Saturday, April 14, when she was a part of a group of 250 participants to greet and hear Tom Brokaw at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, CA.

The library is near Carole Minkin's home in Oxnard, and she and her husband, David, were impressed by Tom, as he escorted Nancy Reagan to the session. Nancy indicated she would not miss the chance to be with the group at the library, which is now the home of the original "Air Force One" and many such affairs are held right under the famous plane.

Tom's book is entitled:  The Time of Our Lives: A conversation about America; Who we are, where we've been, and where we need to go now, to recapture the American dream

His remarks are so similar to some the content of some of my blogs. He begins with the sentence:  "What happened to the America I thought I knew?"

He didn't concentrate on the things he knew from years of covering the events of the old days, but on a look to what our future will have in store for us as he cited several well known, but little discussed facts.

It was mine and my daughter's secret that she went to hear what we can expect and hope to gain some inside thinking on what independent thinkers have to discuss as our numbers of Independents are raising very rapidly, as so many people find the two main parties incapable of developing answers to their fears.

Way back when, I was head of an investment group, when it became a first supporter of Governor Reagan, and that action caused me to be invited to be a part of the developers of the Reagan Library and have made several trips there to watch its growth.

So, I have been an Insider before, and now get to blog about the future as a participant.
