The End Is Near...for Forby Road

Getting closer and closer to completing Forby Road in Eureka.

This will probably be my final update on the North Street and Forby Road improvement project in , as you can see in the pictures that the final grading began on Friday and the sidewalk or trail is almost complete. The trail on the south of North Street is being developed, so if weather permits, Forby will be paved first so that access for our area can be over that improvement, while North Street is taken care of beginning at Central and working West to join and complete the project.

The developer of the new growth is installing all underground wiring. While the rear of the old Weber Tract is still under consideration, there are plans for three home sites fronting Forby Road, and one at my old home site at 125 West North. But after the new Roberta Lane, a planned 26 feet concrete drive for access is finished, it might have a different address.

I was entertained all year by the skill of the operators of the various pieces of equipment and the managers of the project as they reacted to several unplanned circumstances:  one major item being just west of me on North Street where a leaking water main had softened the under road soil so badly that nearly three weeks of expensive unplanned work had to be included.

So if given just a few days of good weather, there might be light at the end of a long tunnel soon.

I think you will be pleased with the result, as it is shaping up nicely. But today it is raining, so it might be next week.  I'll keep you posted.
