Taking Up the Cross

It seems that God still has something in mind for me -- it involves Missouri's 2nd Congressional District.

This time last year, I was involved in our State Senate race and lost to an opponent who, during the session, was given the name "Nasty" Nieves. Late in the race, I was diagnosed with a form of lymphoma, and although I was told to go home and die -- which I prepared to do -- I used writing a blog for the Eureka-Wildwood Patch as a therapy. (I have more than 100 blogs, all of which are in my personal website.) In May I began feeling better.

On May 13, 2011, I submitted one entitled:  "Thanks to all who helped me." Three days later, I prepared another:  "Life Events Fit Sense of Belief." These reports made me think that perhaps I had a special calling for service that was manifested in the August 28 sermon and bulletin made by Father Rick Schilli of , in which he said:  "The nature of discipleship in Jesus Christ is to 'take up your cross and follow Me.'"

At Jesus' urging today, we are prompted to begin to think like God thinks, and to reject the insufficient "wisdom" of human beings. So, I have modified my personal website, and am prepared to file for the office of the new Missouri 2nd Congressional District as a Democrat, when filing opens next year.

Therefore, I send my website address for you to be aware of. I pledge to continue to provide communication in the form of additional blogs for up-to-date information.

Because I don't have fundraising, there is no cost to you. If you want someone with a wide experience and service to represent you, pass the address along.
