Forby Road/North Street Progresses In Eureka
Here's my prediction regarding when the Forby Road project may be done.
The recent hot, dry weather sped up work on the project. The large effort to move the fill to widen Forby Road in Eureka coming up the hill should be finished this week.
Monday, a question on the minds of many was answered about the moving of the highwires to the new electric poles. The answer is that the top wires won't be moved because they were replaced with new ones along North Street. So, another example of progress.
The main paving from Forby Estates to Meramec is mostly in place, so it appears that as the sidewalks there are completed, it will be opened for Forby Estates traffic and closed to complete the grading to North Street.

The hillside on the old Weber tract is becoming more level as each day sees the result of the huge amounts of fill. The local deer herd comes out once in a while to see where their graze has gone. The local cats do the same as their hunting ground has a new look. The cicadas do their singing and mating and many are found dead each day, so beware of 13 years from now as a new brood appears.
While there has been no official statement on a possible completion date for the Forby Road project, my personal estimate would be about Labor Day or Eureka Day in September. But things are shaping up nicely.
