Experience with the Veterans Affairs

This is my letter to the VA as described in the letter. After I sent it on Saturday, I felt it might make a good blog, as it expresses my experiences that don't seem to make an impression on the general news people or members of the government who are responsible. What do you think?

I reread the letter of January 26 2012, which I had put aside in disgust when I received it. I was under Home Health Care at the time following a series of chemotherapy for lymphoma and felt the exam was a farce when taken at JB, as I could not understand much of the procedure and methods. At the time, one of my comrades who was present at the grenade explosion was still available to verify that it happened, and that was ignored by the testers. 

They seem to feel I should have some military records of the event, but my God, we were in training to get killed in the service of our country and I lived through the incident luckily—as a school friend of mine is in my cemetery from the same type of action in training, so I felt fortunate and did not seek such information as you might like.

I waited nearly five years since first making contact with the VFW as a long-time member and when nothing happened, I did acquire some well-known hearing aids, which are not of much value but cost nearly $4,000. Their test show a much greater difference between the ears than recorded in your letter of exclamation, so I thought in January I would not recover as I have since then.

So it is my feeling that the method of testing I received in the hour I was at JB was an exercise in futility and set it aside.

Now I am involved in a campaign for the U.S. Congress in the Second Missouri District and after seeing the rip off of Medicare by numerous treatment methods and costs in medical circles, with no court cases in widely publicized actions involving billions of dollars, I cannot help but think that the VA is just another case of cover up of another government agency built to serve the needs of citizens.

That is because I hear of the thousands of cases, such as mine, that it is said to have been turned down recently. You had better hope I don't get elected, because no one, political or hard ball or the other talk shows even mention the fields of which I speak, and I will speak loud and long, if given the opportunity.

So thank you for the opportunity to speak my findings, but I felt the uncomfortable hour I spent getting your so-called testing when I could not even understand what was wanted by the testers, had little chance of finding the true facts.

At going on 88 years, I probably don't have another 10 years to correct our malpractice, but I will go down with a fighting spirit. Thank you for looking into it.
